livbtHSEQ:Health, Safety, Environment and Quality

The main focus of the HSEQ department of Fjord Shipping is to achieve the best possible safety for crew, vessels and the environment. At Fjord Shipping, working with HSE related matters is much more than merely being in compliance with regulations and requirements. Due to this we do our utmost to ensure a mutual understanding of the importance of HSE between our crew and office personnel. Together we have succeeded in establishing a company culture for safety, which is under constant development to always be in line with our goals of safe, efficient and environmentally friendly trade.

Fjord Shipping has a strict “no alcohol and drug policy”, and we actively enforce it with well established control procedures.

Our Safety Management System is web based and used by both the Company and vessels from a (secured) corporate server. In this way short line of communication lead to close follow up of HSE reports. The crew management, maintenance system and other reporting systems are also included in our Safety Management System database. The system is in daily use and under constant improvement.

Our Document of Compliance is approved by DNV, and the system is reviewed by DNV on an annual basis.

Our vessels are holding SMC- and ISPS certificates from various class-societies.

Crew Training in the use of our Safety Management System is provided with our main crewing agents in close co-operation with our QA Department. Our crew is at all times updated with all relevant newsletters, alerts and statutes.

Office personnel responsible for the HSEQ have a solid maritime background, which is a requirement for all office personnel involved in the operations of the company’s vessels.

We aim to be a trustworthy and reliable management company with high focus on safe and environmentally friendly operation on all of our vessels.
